Dark Chocolate Pecan Sea Salt Caramel Chip Cookies

Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Cookies

Chocolately and not too sweet with a bit of crunch from the pecans and a hint of saltiness from the sea salt caramel chips, these cookies are as close to perfection as it gets. They are wonderful with a glass of milk or a cup of fresh-brewed coffee!



13/4 cups cake flour

1 cup cocoa powder

2  teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature

3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs, room temperature

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups pecans, chopped

10 ounces sea salt caramel chips


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Place parchment on baking sheet and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. 
  4. In mixer bowl, beat butter and sugars just until combined.
  5. Stir in flour mixture a little at a time, keeping mixer on low.
  6. Add eggs and vanilla.
  7. Mix in sea salt caramel chips and pecans.
  8. Use a cookie scoop to measure and drop onto prepared cookie sheet.
  9. Flatten each cookie slightly.
  10. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Depending on how your oven cooks, you may need to rotate the cookie sheet halfway through (5 minutes).
  11. Remove cookies from pan and place on cooling rack.


This is a very stiff dough!
