About The Recipe

With our busy schedule, snacks have become essential! Our usual go-to snack is a family favorite – Cinnamon Sugar Candied Pecans. But, with all the baking we’ve been up to lately, from our Holiday Nut Cake, Danish Wedding Cookies, and Pecan Sticky Buns, we needed a break from all the sugary treats.

We created this recipe a few years ago as kind of a last minute snack to take along to a dinner party. (My mom never shows up anywhere without food.😂)We had a small amount of salted butter and some pecans leftover from an early version of our Cowboy Cookies. It was kind of a light bulb moment. We melted the butter, stirred it into the pecans, and popped it in the oven. Our new favorite (and easiest) snack was born!

If you love salty snacks or just need a simple addition to your charcuterie boards, this simple recipe is everything you need!

Ingredients You Need

  • Pecan Halves – There’s nothing better than the sweet butteriness of pecans, and this recipes really accentuates that.
  • Melted Salted Butter – It’s so nice to have perfectly salted pecans without the graininess of salt getting in the way.

How To Make Butter Roasted Pecans (In Two Simple Steps!)

Step 1: Mix

In a medium mixing bowl, combine pecan halves and butter. Stir to coat the pecans thoroughly.

Step 2: Bake

Pour the pecans into a greased sheet pan. Bake at 325℉ for 12-15 minutes. Let cool before eating.

How To Tell When The Pecans Are Done Roasting

It can be a little difficult to decide between not done enough and burned with these pecans, as the color doesn’t change very much from the minute you put them in to the minute you take them out. Don’t worry though! If you bake them for 12-15 minutes, they will be absolutely perfect!

You can also tell if they are cooked by smell! There should be a slightly sweet, nutty fragrance when you open the oven. If the pecans are burned, the smell will be very strong.

Don’t Be Afraid To Add A Little Spice!

While butter roasted pecans on their own are absolutely delicious, there is a simple way to add something a little extra special.

Mix in your favorite seasonings. I cannot recommend this ENOUGH! From Everything Bagel Seasoning, Honey Sriracha Seasoning, even Garlic and Herb Seasoning. Whatever you like, just sprinkle it in immediately after roasting to have that extra POP of flavor!
